What is special about playing in the Jubilee Cup and what is it going to take to win?
It’s the pinnacle of Wellington club rugby and the teams that make the most sacrifices and do extra work will prevail.
Which club do you feel your team has the biggest Jubilee Cup rivalry with?
All the Hutt teams because we have always been the little guy but now the sleeping giant has woken up and is here to play.
If you could choose any forward and any back from around the world to join your team for the Jubilee Cup which two players would take the field?
Obviously Jonah - we would put him in at 8 just so we could have a big forward.
In the backs Piri gets the nod just ahead of Tana due to his ability for Piri to get more seafood for the changing rooms after a game.
Who are the fittest, the strongest and the fastest players in your team?
Pretty clear cut here, Attila Vaa, Norm Faaliga, David Vaa are the fittest with a combined weight of 420kg their yoyos are unbelievable. Teru Time is also very close.
Strongest: Cory Draper and Frae Wilson best bench over 180kg not bad for halfbacks.
Outside of the obvious,Jason Love and Tau Mamea, both coaches Crilly and Marais are pretty quick over first 10m to after match food table
Any superstitions or pre-game rituals that players in your team have?
Marvin Karawana always sits next to and warms up with Jason Love, it’s cute to watch.
Cameron Ross has a special pair of pink decorated boxers he wears, a bit strange but it makes him play good so we just let it go.
Describe any special talents or claims to fame outside of rugby of a player or players in our team/club?
Obviously NZ got talent missed out on coming to Wainui cause Josh Robertson Weepu, Attila Vaa and Micheal Leaalavaa, are as close to Bone Thugs as NZ has got we just call the JAM cause to many letters in their names
If money and work/family considerations were no object, how would your team and club best celebrate winning the Jubilee Cup.
We would go to an island somewhere party hard until the start of pre-season 2016.
How important are your club’s supporters in lifting your team and who is your number one fan?
They are very special to us, as they are the same supporters that have been there with us from our senior 1 days right through to today and they are behind us no matter what - that’s what the nui is omata for life.
