Galbraith Shield final a fortnight ago – Marist beat Star 26-15
Southern defeated Harbour 24-15 to win the Otago Metropolitan title on Saturday in the final at Forsyth Barr Stadium, their first title win for a decade.
Lincoln University v Canterbury final on Sunday afternoon at Rugby Park
Finals last week. Nelson beat Wanderers 41-19 in the final in Nelson Bay and Moutere beat Renwick 22-19 to win the Marlborough championship.
Jubilee Cup semi-finals
Hutt Old Boys Marist 19 – Marist St Pat’s 14
Old Boys University 50 – Tawa 22
A tight semi-final and a blowout – top qualifier OBU will meet HOBM in next Saturday’s Jubilee Cup final at the Petone Rec. OBU, with no players deemed good enough to make this year’s Wellington Lions or Development teams, laid on 7 tries against Tawa, while HOBM beat MSP on penalties.
Final last week: Palmerston North Old Boys-Marist beat Kia Toa 28-27 to win the Hankins Shield.

Maddison Trophy semi-finals:
Napier Old Boys Marist 26 – Hastings Rugby and Sports 22
Clive 21 – Napier Technical 21
Top qualifier Napier Old Boys Marist will beat third placed qualifier Clive in next weekend’s Maddison Trophy final at McLean Park, after a pair of tightly contested semi-finals. NOBM won their 33rd consecutive match to go into the final as favourites, while the Lowe brothers, Karl and Jonah, and NZ U20 flyhalf Tiaan Falcon were key in a tight win over Napier Tech.
Hamilton Old Boys are this year’s Waikato Premier club rugby champions, beating Otorohanga 38-16 in the final. Trailing 16-14 at halftime, Old Boys dictated possession and territory in the second spell to shut their rivals out of the game. Wing Sevu Reece scored two tries in the five tries to one win over the fourth placed qualifier.
Mount Maunganui Sports won their fourth Baywide Premier 1 title with an emphatic 41-8 victory over Rotoiti Sports at Blake Park on Saturday. They won five tries to one, Isaac Te Aute and Pera Gibbs scoring two tries apiece. They pulled clear after leading 13-8 at halftime.
McNamara Cup Final last week – Bombay beat Karaka 32-24.
University beat Suburbs 39-18 to win the Gallaher Shield at the final on Eden Park on Saturday. University scored six tries, four scored through the forwards. Suburbs led early, but University came back to lead 13-5 at halftime, extending their lead after the interval.
Eden beat Grammar TEC to win the Jubilee Trophy 75-28, East Tamaki prevailed over Papatoetoe 31-10 in the final of the Portola Trophy and Otahuhu edged Mt Wellington 16-13 in the President’s Cup decider.

Old Boys Marist beat Mid Northern 35-24 to win the Northland final on Saturday.
