Explosion of representative rugby this weekend

There is an explosion of representative rugby this weekend for Wellington’s junior, secondary school and senior teams, but most are playing away from home.

There are just two games tomorrow, both at Porirua Park. The Wellington U13s play the Horowhenua-Kapiti U14s on Porirua 2 at 11.00am and the Wellington Development host Tasman B on the JCS at noon.

Both Wellington U16 teams are in action on parallel fields at Playford Park, Levin at 12.00pm. The Wellington U16As face the Manawatu U16s and the Wellington U16s Development play the Horowhenua-Kapiti U16s.

The Centurions U18s head to Napier to meet the Poverty Bay U18s in the third and final round of the Central Secondary School Shield competition. The Wellington Samoans play on the next ground over on Napier’s Bond Field at the same kick-off time of 1.00pm, against the East Coast U18s.

The Wellington Community U18s play the Horowhenua-Kapiti U18s at the Levin Domain at 12.30pm, in the curtain-raiser to the Heartland Championship fixture between the Horowhenua-Kapiti and Wairarapa-Bush sides

The Wellington Pride and the Wellington Lions are both in action in away fixtures on Sunday.

First up are the Pride who play an inaugural Women’s NPC match against Tasman at Trafalgar Park, Nelson at 11.35am.

The Wellington Lions meet the Manawatu Turbos for the Coronation Cup in Palmerston North in the final match of the sixth round of the NPC.
