Buck Shelford to Captain New Team

Former All Black Captain Buck Shelford is putting together a whole new team, and this time he's making a play to improve the state of men's health in New Zealand.

Death Threat?is a ten part television series hosted by Buck and his team of health professionals, New Zealander of the Year Dr Lance O'Sullivan, Professor Grant Schofield, head of AUT's Human Potential Unit and Nutritionist Hereni Marshall that will join TV One's Saturday afternoon men's line up starting at 3pm on September 20^th.?

Each week Buck and his team will combat a new health issue faced by the modern New Zealand male - issues that are so serious, the men featured in the series teeter on the precipice of fatality. These are health issues that all too commonly get ignored or swept under the carpet by men claiming to be too busy or who their families say are too stubborn to take care of themselves.

"I know what it's like, I've been there. I've been the fat guy, the guy who got cancer.?I've had a death threat, but I'm not that guy anymore." Says Buck of his reason for joining the fight for men's health.

Kaitaia GP, Dr Lance O'Sullivan was named New Zealander of the Year in February for his ongoing public health initiatives to improve the state of Maori health in the Far North. He says,??"It's all too easy for Maori men to slip through the cracks when it comes to their health.??It's time for us to stand up and take charge when it comes to our wellbeing."
