DVD synopsis: In the most dramatic of finals, Richie McCaw and his defiant All Black wall held strong to defeat a brutally physical France by a single point, 8-7 in front of the stadium of 4 million. After nearly a quarter of a century of World Cup heartbreak - a country's wait is over. The All Blacks had marched imperiously to the final despite losing the great man, Dan Carter, to injury after the pool stages. Les Bleus had surprised many to get to the final; beaten by Tonga and New Zealand in their pool and with a narrow victory over 14-man Wales in the last four. In a bruising quarter-final the Wallabies ended the Springboks reign, and Wales improved and impressed beating the Irish. Reduced to 14 men early in their semi-final against France the heroic Welsh lost by just a single point. New Zealand's victory against Australia was more comprehensive. So to Eden Park and an immense, brutal final; with just moments left France had one last chance - a penalty kick to break 4 million hearts. It missed; New Zealand are champions of the world!
