2012 draws now online

Wellington rugby fans can now start plotting their Saturday afternoons throughout April, May and June by visiting the Draws & Results section of this website in the menu bar above.?

All Premier Swindale Shield, Senior 1 Harper Lock Shield and Senior 2 National Mutual Cup draws are in place. As per previous years, we will also publish Premier starting XVs every Friday once the 2012 season gets underway in the first week of April.?

Highlights of the first round Swindale Shield draw include:

• A round of Derby fixtures on Anzac Day with five of the six Swindale Shield matches being local derbies.
• Rimutaka's first match in the Premier grade being at home to traditional powerhouse Poneke.

• A replay of the 2011 Jubilee Cup final between holders Oriental Rongotai and Northern United at the Polo Ground on 19 May.

• A "Thanks Ref" round which will take place on 12 May. More details about this event will follow.
• Jubilee Cup Finals Day on Sunday 12 August, incorporating the Wellington Secondary School First XV final and televised - as per last year.

The Wellington club rugby season kicks off on Saturday 7 April with a full round of Swindale Shield games around the Hutt Valley and Wellington.

The Swindale Shield draw for the first round is:

• MSP v OBU, Evans Bay, 3pm
• Wests v Ories, Ian Galloway, 3pm
• Tawa v HOBM, Lyndhurst Park, 3pm
• Wainui v Petone, Wm Jones, 3pm
• Rimutaka v Poneke, Maoribank Park, 3pm
• Norths v Upper Hutt, Porirua Park, 3pm
