Wellington Lions Trial Match

Wellington Lions head coach, Chris Boyd, will be holding a trial next week to help pick his squad for the upcoming ITM Cup season. The two teams have been selected from Wellington's club rugby competition.? It will be a city versus suburbs encounter, with a few players swapping sides to see them match up against each other.

The City will be coached by Phil Proctor, current Oriental-Rongotai Premier and last year's Jubilee Cup winning coach. He will be joined in the coaching team by Ray MacDonald from Rimutaka. Both are the Wellington Development coaches for 2012.

Frank Rees and Tom Martin, this year's Wellington Under 20 and Petone Premier coaches will take the reins for the Suburbs team.

This game is an opportunity to see some exciting match-ups in a bid for inclusion in the Wellington Lions squad for 2012.

The match will be played at Hutt Recreational Ground, next Monday 21 May. Kick off for the game is at 6.30pm.
