Former Northern United fullback and 2010 Wellington club rugby leading points scorer, James So'oialo joined Tawa in 2013, playing alongside his older brother Steven So'oialo.
He helped Tawa win the Swindale Shield - Jubilee Cup double in 2013.
Previously, after winning the Jubilee Cup with Norths in 2010, So'oialo went to France to play for Castres. He also played for Pays d'Aix, before moving to Connacht in Ireland in 2013. He was also a member of Samoa's RWC squad in 2011, playing one match. As of June 2013 he had played 7 internationals for Samoa.
