Wellington against international teams: versus Scotland 1975
Match Details Result: Scotland 36 – Wellington 25When: 7 June, 1975Weather: Fine and sunny Crowd: 37,000 The Tour: For the first time, Scotland toured New Zealand under its own banner, following several previous visits by British Isles teams and by England in 1963 and 1973. The visit, from late May to early June 1975, was short and sharp, with six matches scheduled against provincial opposition culminating in a single Test against the All Blacks in Auckland. Of course, the Test was to prove famous for being played at a waterlogged Eden Park and will forever be known as the ‘Water Polo Test’...More

That match is also the Saturday Rugby Club's feature commentary match on 93.7FM and 1503AM. Even after the wet weather of earlier in the week, conditions should be near perfect for the 13th week of the club rugby season. At the top end it’s the second week of the Jubilee and Hardham Cups and the Premier Reserve second round, while a number of other grades conclude their first round competitions and their eyes begin to look towards their championship rounds from next week...More

St Pat's Silverstream sail home against Wellington College
Despite being without the services of a host of usual starters, St Patrick's College Silverstream were able to pile on the points at Wellington College today, winning 38-27 in trying conditions. Wellington opened the account, opportunistically pouncing on an errant St Pat’s clearance which saw Jayden Williams scoot away for the opening try of the match. Unfortunately for the home side, only a Hauiti-Parapara penalty would be added to their total in the opening stanza of the traditional match as Silverstream ran rampant...More
Wellington against international teams: versus England 1973
Match Details Result: England 26 – Wellington 15 When: 5 September 1973Weather: Fine and sunny Crowd: 30,000 The Tour: 1973 was supposed to be the year of the Springboks. But a letter from Prime Minister Norman Kirk to the NZRU in April asking them to defer the tour owing to apartheid. This in turn threw the international season into disarray.
