As part of this coming Sunday’s Wellington club rugby Colts Division 1, Hardham Cup and Jubilee Cup finals, Wellington’s rugby will hopefully find its fastest Senior club player.
Each club is invited to present their fastest man at the start line in full playing kit in the in-goal of the Hutt Recreation Ground for a length-of-the-field sprinting race, to take place just prior to the start of the Jubilee Cup final which kicks off at 3.00 pm.
All Senior clubs have been invited to participate. The Wellington Rugby Referees’ Association is also expected to enter their fastest referee.
More details to come, including possible prizes for the winning individual or club.
Meanwhile, anticipation is building for finals day that includes a triple-header of matches,? Rippa rugby and plenty of other entertainment.
As well as this, the Hutt Old Boys Marist club will have its clubrooms and bar at the northern end of the ground open all afternoon from midday to 6.00 pm (no alcohol to be taken into the ground) and food providers will be on site including a hot food outlet and Kaffe Eis (coffee).
