Wainuiomata Women's team 2016.
Wainuiomata Women's or WOW as they like to be known is one of the strongest rugby sides playing out of the Hutt Valley. WOW have been semi finalist each season since 2010, taking out the competition in 2012, beating Norths in a close fought final.
In 2014, WOW had two players feature in the Women's World Cup; Jackie Patea (Black Ferns) and Mary-Ann Collins (Samoa). The latter, featuring at number one on The Crowd Goes Wild's Smashed 'Em Bro for a tackle she made in an NPC match.
WOW play a physical brand of rugby, with a number of their players playing both union and league. They have the ability to upset any side and are often considered the dark horse of the Women's competition.?
